WITH
CLASS ACTIVITIES
|
Throughout the 2005-2006 school year Lincoln Street School students will be participating in many class activities having to do with the 50th celebration.
|
Kick off Celebration

| In September, the children attended a dedication ceremony for the new nature trail which also marked the beginning of our year long 50th celebration. |
"Read for the Gold"
| In an effort to encourage a life long habit and enthusiasm for reading
in our students, the Lincoln Street School Library and Reading Department
have kicked off their annual reading incentive program. In
conjunction with the winter Olympics and our 50th anniversary, the
children are challenged to earn points by fulfilling reading challenges.
When they have reached 80 points they will receive a gold sticker placed
on their Olympic ID and receive a small token in celebration of their
victory. There will also be opportunities to recognize the international
spirit and multi-cultural experiences the Olympics provide. Holiday Concert |

| Lincoln Street School held its annual Holiday Concert, Tuesday evening December 13th. The 5th grade band, the string ensemble, and the 5th grade chorus performed “Holiday Rock” which was totally sweeeeeet!!! Special effects were included. When the lights went off, the chorus blinked their flashlights at the audience and created a twinkling effect during one song. The chorus concluded their performance by celebrating our 50th Golden Anniversary with a Sing-A-long, “Songs of Holiday’s Past.” The Sing Along included many golden favorites that were enjoyed by all. |
|
Wait....there's more! Later in the year Each classroom will be creating their own class flag for the Olympic ceremony. The students will be working on a special poem this year based on the theme: “What is the color of Gold?”. and as the year goes on there will be more activities to come...
