Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Emily York and this will be my third year teaching since I graduated with my Master's Degree in Education from West Virginia University. As an alum of Main Street School, I am very excited to return to my home-town and live out my dream of becoming a teacher. Entering my third year of teaching, I can say that I am in the right field. I absolutely love teaching! I am thrilled to be involved in the first full-day Kindergarten program here at MSS. Ann Killeen (Miss Ann) has been an instructional aide here at Main Street for over 16 years. The school day wouldn't be as enjoyable or run as smoothly without her in our class. The children all bring something special to the class each day and keep both of us on our toes. Please check the homework calendar frequently to help your child.
Throughout the year, I plan to watch your children grow academically as well as socially. There will be many opportunities for you to visit our classroom as well as attend fieldtrips with the class. Thank you parents and families for all of your support this year! I look forward to working with you in the months ahead!
