Lincoln Street School

Celebrates

Read Across America 2008

During the week of March 3 - March 7, 2008, Lincoln Street School joined schools and libraries throughout the country in NEA's Read Across America. The event is a nationwide effort to promote literacy across the country and to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday on March 2.  In an effort to encourage our students to develop a life long habit of daily reading, we challenged them to become members of our "Dr. Seuss Walk of Fame" by reading a minimum of fifteen minutes a day during February vacation and through March 17th.

As part of our week long celebration a number of our community members put aside the many hats they wear for work and play to don the ultimate reading hat of the Cat in the Hat. Check out the pictures of some school community members sharing one of their favorite Dr. Seuss books with the students.
