Special Programs
Volunteers play a vital role in the Lincoln Street School community. We are fortunate to have parent volunteers, community members who come to help us, and volunteers from within the building - both staff members and students. We hope that this model of giving and sharing will make our students better citizens.
This year both Lincoln and Main Street Schools have run successful after-school programs, thanks to the efforts of volunteer instructors. We have offered classes such as French, Spanish, Japanese, Sign Language, Cooking, Sports Medley, Dance, Yoga, Arts & Crafts, Stampin, and Legos.

Lincoln Street School has a very active Volunteer Program. Lots of our parents and other community members volunteer their time in schools in a variety of roles; reading to classes, assisting with academics, helping in the cafeteria or library, teaching Math Problem Solvers or Booktalk, or volunteering in the Music Programs and Art Programs. We have an active Student Council directed by Mr. Schmitt, which is instrumental in leading us with school spirit activities. A student from every homeroom represents our population, and together they help plan such activities as pep rallies, outreach to community nursing homes, and school yard clean ups. |
