Lincoln Street School Band Program

Here at Lincoln Street School we have a wonderful, vibrant Band Program. Each fall, approximately 100 new students in grades 4 and 5 begin instrumental lessons on flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion. Students in the 5th grade who have already played for one year in our program (or from a program in another school) are put in the 5th Grade Band.

Important Dates

At the beginning of each school year, an instrument demonstration is held the day after Labor Day. Sign-up slips are passed out, and are due that Friday. The following Monday afternoon, I call the music company and order the instruments requested; on Thursday evening instruments are distributed. Lessons begin the following Monday.

For the 2007-2008 school year:

Instrument demonstration: Tuesday, September 4 (9:30am)

Sign-up slips due: Friday, September 7

Instrument distribution: Thursday, September 13 (5:30pm, LSS Gym)

Lessons begin: the week of Monday, September 17 (different instruments: different days).
